The King Wolf is another lair monster like the Serpent, where it doesn't have an actual "lair" but rather wanders around Axe-Glacier. Because it is never in one place, adventurers often have hard time finding it. The reason many people try to kill it is because it holds an obsidian egg, the component needed to make an Raxe. The King Wolf can only be damaged by silver weapons, such as a Silver Greataxe or a silver dagger. It looks like any other wolf, so the only way to tell it is the King Wolf is to see how hard it hits and how hard it is to kill. Unless you are an experienced user of an SGA or a dagger, the King Wolf can be difficult to defeat. There are also Prince wolves (pwolf) which roam solo instead of packs, and they do not drop the eggs.
